Uber is readying to expand its engineering and product teams across its technology centres in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Presently, Uber Engineering India has over 500 technologists in the two cities.
In its attempt to hire the best talent and make a mark in innovation, Uber will hire full-stack teams, including product managers, product designers, data scientists, user researchers, mobile, front-end and back-end engineers, as well as machine learning/artificial intelligence experts.
“We see immense potential in India’s tech talent and have been expanding our India tech presence since the start of this year,” says Apurva Dalal, head-engineering, Uber.

Engineers are working in the exciting areas of customer engagement, rider access (next billion riders), Uber Eats, maps, marketplace and data platforms,” said Apurva Dalal, head-engineering, Uber India.
In addition to lateral hiring, Uber will continue to hire fresh talent from the top Indian engineering universities, in the areas of data science, distributed systems, mobile, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and so on.
In its endeavour to redefine urban commute, Uber began building end-to-end urban-mobility products for the world, from India about two and a half years ago. Uber Engineering India has developed mobility innovations, such as Uber Lite — a simplified, lighter and faster version of the flagship app.
Uber had been established in 2010 to provide customers the access to a ride at the touch of a button. Now, after over 10 billion trips, the Company is building products that bring people closer to where they want to be. It has changed the way people move through cities, opening up a whole world of new possibilities.
