Rozgar Mela is a job fair organised by the central government, where job seekers interact with employers, explore employment opportunities, and participate in interviews and recruitment activities. It aims to provide jobs to one million youth in the country.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave offer letters and scheme approvals to selected people at the job fair in Bhopal. The fair lasted for three days and saw the participation of 65 companies. The central government and other state governments are also giving job offers to many young people.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, chief minister of Madhya Pradesh handed out offer letters and scheme approvals to chosen applicants at the Rozgar Mela in Bhopal on May 29. The three-day event started on May 27 at the divisional ITI Govindpura, Bhopal, and had around 65 companies participating.

Similarly, the central government and various state governments are also providing job appointment letters to thousands of unemployed youth. This process is ongoing to help those in need of employment.

Along with this event, Shramik Chaupal was also held. During this event, different schemes and services were provided to workers in the unorganised sector. These included e-labour cards, Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan, M.P. Building and Construction Workers Board, and M.P. Registration. Workers were registered, and benefits were distributed by organisations like EPFO, ESIC, and the Central Chief Labour Commissioner, which are part of the Ministry of Labour.

In January 2023, approximately 71,000 appointment letters were given to recruits in government departments and organisations. In the April 2023 Rozgar Mela, another 71,000 appointment letters were distributed. The first phase of the Rozgar Mela was initiated by Prime Minister Modi in October 2022, where over 75,000 newly appointed recruits received their appointment letters.

Under the Rozgar Mela, recruits are appointed to various positions and roles including gramin dak sevaks, inspector of posts, commercial-cum-ticket clerk, junior clerk-cum-typist, and more.

The central government has been implementing employment generation policies for nearly a decade, understanding their significance for economic growth, poverty reduction, and social stability. Significant investments in infrastructure projects are also creating employment opportunities in related sectors. Initiatives like Skill India, Startup India, and Make in India are actively contributing to employment generation, with the government providing support to the startup ecosystem.
