Himachal Pradesh cabinet has agreed to revise pay scales of two lakh employees of the state government from January 21, 2021. The salary for the month of January 2022, will be given in February.
The state government has already granted Rs 5000 crores to the employees as part of arrears. Now, Rs 260 crores will be spent as the government’s contribution to cover six years’ arrears under NPS.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur headed the meeting, where it was collectively decided to use the Himachal Pradesh Swarn Jayanti (Legacy Cases Resolution) Scheme, 2021, to settle the pending arrears of tax, fee, interest, penalty and so on which may accumulate in the future, as a result of dumping of tax assessment under the many enactments.
This will also help resolve the issue of tax dues, which are held up in the cases that have not been assessed till now, along with the cases where arrears have been announced under the Himachal Pradesh Land Revenue Act, 1954. A redressal of over 1.68 lakh cases may be possible.
The cabinet also approved the creation of New Sub division (Civil) at Kupvi in Chopal assembly constituency, Shimla district. It also signed on the recruitment for three posts of inspector in the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
In the meeting, it was also agreed upon to provide science classes in government senior secondary schools, Mahog in Karsog area, Kamad, Sianji, Baggi, Nagwain, Seri Kothi, and Talyar in Mandi district.
