Special bonus, 75% hike in variable pay, for PwC India staff

After having paid a two-week one-time special bonus to its 15,000-strong workforce in the country in March 2021, PricewaterhouseCoopers India is now giving vouchers worth Rs 25,000 to 50,000 to all, who have joined the Company on or before 31 March, 2021, as per the management level of the employees.

The multinational professional services company has also increased the variable pay of its staff in India by three quarters.

This is the Company’s way of showing its appreciation for the work that the employees have done over the last one year. Their hard work has helped PwC accomplish sustained results, despite the challenges of working from home and the pandemic-induced uncertain conditions around them. Therefore, PwC has chosen to reward them with these bonuses and cash vouchers.

In 2020 bonuses, promotions and pay hikes had been deferred for the entire staff in India in preparation for high-level disruptions. Even the senior executives of the Company had taken pay cuts to conserve cash. However, now, with things looking up and recovery of the economy in sight in some sectors, the Company is in a good place.

These bonuses, the Company hopes, will benefit the families of the employees and also give a push to the economy by encouraging consumer spending.
