CSM Technologies, an IT consulting company, has introduced a unique collaboration between humans and AI in response to concerns about job layoffs caused by the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) worldwide.

The company has hired its first non-human employee, Medha K, an AI-powered chatbot equipped with natural language processing (NLP) capabilities. Medha K, the integrated knowledge assistant powered by ChatGPT, assists internal employees at CSM Technologies by comprehending and generating text based on user prompts and keywords. Medha K can tweak language models, integrate human feedback, and employ efficient learning techniques to ensure a smooth and immersive user experience.

Priyadarshi Nanu Pany, founder and CEO, CSM Tech, emphasises that the successful integration of Medha K demonstrates that AI is meant to complement and enhance human abilities rather than replace them in the workplace. Pany envisions a future of collaborative intelligence, where humans and AI work together to leverage their respective strengths.

Medha K, as a powerful text-generating AI, has been connected to the company’s employee database, granting it access to individual profiles and additional business data such as attendance, leave, training, tour details, and off-boarding information. The knowledge assistant excels at handling repetitive and mundane tasks and can accurately respond to customer queries using language models, even without human intervention.

CSM Tech  plans to enhance the chatbot by implementing new features, including voice-over functionality, which allows users to search for information without typing. The search capabilities of the chatbot will also be improved by incorporating more data and providing advanced training. Furthermore, Medha K will be modified to carry out important tasks such as sales and marketing.
