To celebrate International Women’s Day, upGrad, the Indian higher edtech firm, is organising virtual sessions for its women employees as well as the wives, mothers, sisters and women friends of its male employees to help them manoeuvre and improve every phase of their life. These sessions are aimed at enlightening women about issues and matters that can significantly affect their financial independence and mental well-being.

The first session by Puroitree Majumdar, a clinical psychologist at YourDOST, will emphasise the importance of being mindful of one’s mental health while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This session will teach the women to identify stress points in their lives, while transitioning from one role to another, be it from a single woman to that of a wife, or mother and juggling between multiple roles and helping them build a personal response plan to such stressors. The second session, by Surabhi Jain, an investment advisor and certified financial planner, will focus on financial literacy and guide them on ways to be more financially independent and stable. It will give them tips on financial investments and age-based financial planning and financial crisis management.

Preeti Kaul, president – HR, upGrad, is proud of the fact that upGRad is an inclusive and people-centric organisation, that understands each member’s challenges and needs and ensures that all the employees “have rich and fulfilling personal and professional lives”. In Kaul’s words, “In order to foster overall well-being of women employees at upGrad as well as in their extended family, we are glad to conduct these sessions that are specially designed to address some of the concerns a working woman faces today, often neglected and not talked about. I am sure that these sessions would not only empower them but would also help them plan a healthy lifestyle both financially and mentally.”

To ensure the well-being of the entire workforce, the Company has also announced a free vaccination drive for its employees and their immediate families.

upGrad offers over a 100 courses in data, technology, management, Arts and so on, in collaboration with universities, such as Deakin Business School (Australia), Duke CE (US), LJMU (UK) and IIT Madras (India).
