Ahead of the madness of the festive season in India, Flipkart has added four new warehouses in Haryana, in Sankpa, Yakubpur, Kulana and Rewari. These facilities will provide employment to about 12,000 people, directly and indirectly.

The newly-launched fulfilment centres will help thousands of medium and small enterprises, sellers, as well as small farmers from Haryana to fulfil the ever increasing customer demand. It will provide livelihood to many and also ensure faster deliveries for consumers.

Spread over 12 lakh square feet, these warehouses will cater to over 13,000 sellers offering mobiles, clothes, electronic goods and appliances as well as furniture. The facilities offer a storage capacity of more than 30 lakh cubic feet. These fulfilment centres receive and store products from sellers across the region, process and pack them, and then send these to sortation centres and delivery hubs to be delivered to customers.

With the addition of these four facilities, the total number of fulfilment centres (FC) of Flipkart has now reached 17 with more than 20,000 people directly and indirectly employed in the regions of Luhari, Ballabgarh, Binola, Bilaspur and Farrukhnagar.

Meanwhile, Flipkart has also expanded Flipkart Quick, its hyperlocal service, which was launched in Bangalore last year, to Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai. The service is now offered in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Pune, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. It will soon reach customers in Mohali, Panchkula and Chandigarh. In two years’ time, the hyperlocal service will be available in more than 200 cities across the country.
