E-commerce company, Flipkart, has collaborated with the Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC) of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to provide training to 20,000 Flipkart delivery executives across India.

These members of the supply chain workforce will be trained in all aspects of product delivery and customer experience, and also receive a formal co-branded certificate — Recognition of Prior Leaning— in accordance with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSFQ).

The training will be imparted through eight-hour modules, which will equip the trainees with all the information and knowledge required to understand and smoothen the delivery mechanism.

The modules cover delivery preparation, awareness of local transportation laws and regulations, as well as knowledge of end-to-end supply. The participants of the workshop will be provided training on soft skills as well, via sessions focussed on behaviour, so that they are able to interact better with customers. About 4,000 people have been trained till date.

The certification from the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, which will be given to the students on completion of the training, will also be recognised in seven countries, including Germany, Denmark, Australia and Saudi Arabia.

The training is part of Flipkart’s endeavour to contribute towards the growth of its employees and the strengthening of the whole ecosystem. The initiative is expected to go a long way in organising the logistics workforce in the country.
