The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has announced that it is going to hire for the posts of chief executive officer (CEO), chief technology officer (CTO) and chief finance officer (CFO), and others for its ‘India Semiconductor Mission’ (ISM)
The Union Cabinet had sanctioned the ‘Semiconductor India Programme’ in December, providing a total sum of Rs 76,000 crore for the development of semiconductor and display- manufacturing ecosystem in the country.
The Ministry is looking for people with over 25 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, and over 10 years of experience at the global level for the job of CEO of ISM. The candidates who wish to apply for the post of CEO must have held a leadership position, or served as vice president at their previous job.
For the position of CTO, MeitY is looking for candidates with over 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, and minimum 10 years of global experience and 10 years of experience in consulting in the semiconductor space and its adjacent areas related to electronics manufacturing. The candidate should have served as vice president, CTO, CSO, or CPO at his/her previous job.
A professional management team will overlook the business division of ISM. This division will include CEO, CTO as well as a chief strategy officer (CSO), CFO, chief business development officer (CBDO), and so on. Domain experts from the industry are going to assist the team in its efforts.
