Amidst the pandemic situation when it appears that jobs are hard to come by, Nestle India has rolled out an initiative to provide internship opportunities to 1000 youngsters in the final year of graduation, irrespective of the discipline they belong to. This is the Company’s way of significantly contributing to the upskilling of India’s youth.

Aptly named ‘Nesternship’, this internship programme will see the management accepting applications from final-year graduates.

Commenting on this initiative, Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India stated that with this programme he along with the Nestle managemnt wishes to lend a helping hand in such adverse cisrcumstances, by ensuring that the youth doesn’t lose out on opportunities to build their professional competence.

“Along with the upskilling programme, the youngsters will be paid a stipend and will also be awarded a certificate on successful completion of the project,” states Narayanan.

For the post graduate students, the focus will be upon upskilling and enabling the interns to thrive in workplaces, which they would be joining at a later date.

The programme will commence from 1st August 2020 and will continue for four months, upskilling almost 250 interns every month till end of November. The registrations for the programme will begin from 8 July 2020 which will be communicated through various social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

Applications are welcome via Internshala or via social media handles of Nestlé India. This virtual internship programme will be offered to the youths across diverse functions and education backgrounds over the next four months.

The shortlisting process will include assessing high school marks, graduation score, and other elements such as previous experience/ internships, etc.
