Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has built a new facility, expanding its business operations into Austin, Texas. It has doubled its presence ever since, having hired 400 professionals from there, adding to its employee count of over 5,500 in Texas alone. The new facility at Austin is a part of TCS’ initiative to boost local presence and drive digital transformation for its customers.
The new TCS office at Austin is a part of the 30 offices across the US, namely in Dallas, Houston and Plano. Since 2019, the technology service company has hired over 200 employees locally from Texas, including over 50 graduates from the University of Texas.
The fresh hires are working in areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, tech operations and enterprise software. The Company expects to hire an additional 130 new employees by 2022, from Austin, in addition to the 1000 hires from Texas.
Over the next seven years, the Company is all set to invest $100 million in Austin.
As part of its ongoing investment in the region, TCS continues to expand its Ignite My Future in School (IMFIS) programme, in collaboration with Discovery Education, which has empowered around 15,500 teachers and 900,000 students in the US.
The second education programme, goIT has helped more than 30,000 students across the US since 2009. In Texas alone, goIT has positively impacted over 700 students in the past seven years.
