    Bajaj Allianz appoints Santanu Banerjee as CHRO

    Santanu Banerjee has been appointed as the new CHRO of Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance succeeding Ruben Salvadoray. An HR professional, with over 18 years of wide experience, Banerjee has moved from Star Union Dai-ichi (SUD) Life Insurance, where he was the executive VP & CHRO.

    Banerjee has worked with Hathway Cable & Datacom, Kantar, Exide Life Insurance and Pantaloons in the past. He had a long stint with the Aditya Birla Group, from 2008 to 2018, where he had managed various facets of HR for Birla Sun Life Insurance and subsequently was responsible for setting up Aditya Birla Health Insurance (ABHI).

    Having successfully organised purpose and culture for ABHI, Banerjee is known to have set up vigorous HR frameworks and forms and assembled a gifted pool of 1,700 representatives within a span of a year at Aditya Birla. Additionally, he also implemented effective performance and productivity interventions to ensure achievement of robust growth with a lean and agile structure.

    As a trained coach, he is a strong believer in mentoring people to bring out the best in them. He has helped build winning teams and established differentiated cultures.

    Having graduated from the University of Calcutta, Banerjee completed an MBA in HR from the Army Institute of Management, Kolkata. The insurance sector has been the most dominating industry of his career.

    Avid reader of literature, he is also a trained classical musician, who loves to play musical instruments in order to relax or de-stress.
