Eveready Industries hires Sandeep Banerjee as CHRO

Sandeep Banerjee takes up the role of CHRO at Eveready Industries India where he will lead the HR function for the battery, flashlight and appliance solutions company in India.

Banerjee carries more than two decades of experience in HR and IR. In his chequered corporate journey, Banerjee has managed to work in diverse industries such as light engineering, heavy manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, services & hospitality, aviation, fashion and sports business.

Prior to joining Eveready, Banerjee was the president – HR at H & R Johnson India, a lifestyle solutions company in tiles, bathroom products, and engineered marble and quartz. He spent more than four years with the company leading its HR function.

In the initial phase of his career, Banerjee honed his skills in HR and IR with companies such as Elektriska Svetsnings-Aktiebolaget (ESAB), which is a Swedish multinational manufacturer of welding and cutting equipment. Moving from EASB, Banerjee took up the role of personnel manager at Electrosteel Casting, a company that manufactures spun pipes and ductile pipes. Moving from the heavy manufacturing industry, Banerjee joined the pharmaceuticals sector, with Organon.

It was in 2004 that Banerjee joined Orient Electrics as the head of HR, leading HR operations for two manufacturing units in Kolkata and Faridabad. Spending more than a year with Orient, Banerjee decided to join Taj Hotels as its HR manager. He then went on to spend close to 10 years with Taj and climbed up the corporate ladder. He served his last position as the director – HR at Vivanta by Taj, where he headed the HR function for 42 Vivanta hotels.

After Taj, Banerjee, who is an alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad, moved to Reliance Industries as VP-HR, where he headed the corporate function for its aviation, luxury retail as well as fashion and sports businesses.
