After serving as chief talent officer, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) for 11 months, Kristin Major has been elevated to the position of executive vice president and chief people officer. She will be based out of Houston, Texas, in the US. Her association with HPE has been long.
An alumna of the University of Arizona, Major has read law at Georgetown University Law Centre.
She spent three years in the initial stages of her professional journey serving as an attorney at Snell & Wilmer. In 2020, she joined Skadden Arps, as counsel-labour and employment. About a year later, she moved to Hewlett Packard Enterprise as senior vice president and deputy general counsel, global functions, global security and aviation. This role saw her working out of Palo Alto, California.
Eight years into this role, she became the senior vice president, human resources, Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, based out of San Francisco Bay Area.
Since March 2023, she has been working in the hybrid mode, as chief talent officer, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, from San Jose, California.
Major herself calls this her ‘dream job’. Acknowledging the “incredible talent” available at HPE, she looks forward “to the opportunity to continue a great HPE experience for them as we work together to advance the way people live and work.”
She will step into the shoes of Alan May, who was CPO before Major for eight odd years. May will continue to help HPE with the integration of Juniper Networks, which HPE plans to acquire.
