Banerjee will lead the HR agenda for H & R Johnson during its transformation journey, align it with the business strategy and help it grow further.

Sandeep Banerjee, vice president-HR, Reliance Industries, has moved to the tiles company H&R Johnson, a division of Prism, as head-HR and senior vice president.

H & R Johnson is on a transformation journey, and Banerjee will lead its HR agenda, aligning it with the business strategy, helping it grow further.

With more than 23 years of professional experience in end to end HR, Banerjee has worked with large MNCs and Indian conglomerates across service and manufacturing.

Joining a mid-size company will offer him huge scope of work and empowerment to transform.

His objective is to establish strong people practices, which are aligned to the business and also ensure that HR acts as a facilitator for business, meaningfully contributing to the bottom line as well.

An alumnus of the National Institute of Personnel Management, Banerjee started his career with the Swedish company, ESAB, as assistant manager-HR in 1994. In 1996, he moved to Electrosteel Castings as personnel manager and spent a good five years with the company. In 2001, Banerjee moved to a Dutch pharma company, Organon, as employee relations manager.

He became the head–HR of Orient Electric in 2004. A year and a half later, Banerjee moved to the hospitality industry, shifting base from Kolkata to Mumbai. He spent a decade at Taj Hotels and rose above the ranks from area head-HR to director-HR, for Vivanta Hotels and further on to head-HR for Luxury Hotels and Vivanta Hotels worldwide.

Later, in 2014, he moved to Reliance Industries as vice-president, HR.

At Reliance, he was managing HR for corporate functions, Aviation, IMGR Fashion, Sports and the upcoming Convention and Luxury Retail at BKC Mumbai.
