After almost 50 days of lockdown, several manufacturing plants have resumed operations as per the state guidelines. Likewise, Chinese phone maker, Oppo, had also resumed its operations on Friday, May 15, with 30 per cent workforce, after the Uttar Pradesh  government granted permission for the same.  However, unfortunately, six of the Company’s employees tested positive, following which it suspended its operations in Greater Noida.

Oppo has sent samples from all its over 3000 employees for tests, and is waiting for the results.

When contacted, Oppo India said, “After obtaining permission from the state authorities to resume production, following the MHA directive. Oppo India has not only undertaken COVID-19 tests for all employees at the manufacturing facility in Greater Noida but also suspended all operations at the plant.”

Claiming that the safety of all its employees and citizens has and will always remain a priority, the Chinese consumer electronics and mobile communications stated that it is “undertaking stringent measures to keep the employees safe.”

However, Oppo is yet to officially comment on these measures as they are still in the planning phase.

Any further decision or action by Oppo India will be taken only after the test results for the rest of the employees are received.
