Visa and Mastercard have also joined the list of fintech companies that are comfortable with their employees working from home.

The global payments network, Visa, will allow most of its 20,000-strong workforce to continue lending efficient support to their clients from the safe confines of their homes, till the end of this year.

It has come to realise that it has been able to ensure full business continuity, even with its employees working from their homes instead of the office. The Company is expected to bring its employees back to office in a phased manner one site at a time, in the future.

The move will not only ensure social distancing but also help lessen the congestion on roads and in transit systems.

Mastercard Inc. does not want its staff to return to their offices till some vaccines or other measures are discovered to control the spread of COVID-19. In fact, the payment-processing company is considering consolidating offices and taking stock of its real-estate footprint. It has allowed its 20,000 strong global workforce to choose when they wish to return to office.

Visa is just one of the many fintech companies to have realised the safety offered by the WFH arrangement. Earlier, on May 18, American Express had also announced its decision to let the majority of its staff continue with the WFH arrangement till the end of this year. Another payments tech firm, Square Inc. has asked most of its employees to work from home forever.
