    Nirupam Sahay joins Surya Roshni as Executive Director & CEO

    Surya Roshni has appointed Nirupam Sahay as the executive director and CEO of Lighting.

    Sahay is backed by over 26 years of experience, in Philips Lighting, GE Capital-SBI Card, Whirlpool and Asian Paints. His former role was as the senior vice president & global business leader, consumer lamps in Philips Lighting, before which he was the president & CEO, of Philips Lighting, Indian Subcontinent. He has also served as the president of ELCOMA (the lighting industry body in India).

    Having graduated in Economics Honours from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, Sahay completed his MBA from NMIMS, Mumbai, and finished an Advanced Management Programme at The Wharton School.

    Speaking about the appointment, Raju Bista, Managing Director of Surya Roshni Limited said “Nirupam comes to Surya Roshni with a wealth of experience in Indian and global markets, and has built very strong businesses, brands and teams in his earlier roles. I am confident that he will take the Lighting, Fans and Home Appliances businesses of Surya Roshni to greater heights”.

    In Sahay’s own words, “Surya is a very powerful and trusted brand. I am very excited to be back in India, and to have the the opportunity to work with the strong Surya team to grow the business”.

    Surya Roshni is an Indian conglomerate which is a leader in steel tubes and lighting. It had sales of ? 5471 crores in FY 2019-20. The company caters to diverse consumer needs in both the domestic and commercial/industrial categories. It also exports its lighting, steel, fans and home appliances to more than 50 countries.
