These companies include Flipkart, Maruti Suzuki India, India Yamaha Motor, Tata Motors, Cadila Pharmaceuticals and Raymond.

The courses covered under the programme are designed by the local industry, in partnership with ITIs and others, and delivered by sharing existing infrastructure.

In addition, the Ministry of Skill Development has also set up Mentor Councils which will help design courses for the ITIs and will include representatives from companies among the top ten in each sector.

To link curricula to industry needs, technical support is being provided by core groups in each sector, guided by the Central Staff Training and Research Institute, Kolkata and the National Instructional Media Institute, Chennai.

The Centre is also engaging with countries, having signed 16 MoUs with the US, UK, Germany, France and Iran, among others, in an endeavour to skill its workforce.

Apart from the private industry, “The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) have collaborated with foreign governments and institutions,” says Rajiv Pratap Rudy, MOS, Ministry of Skill Development.

      Dear Sir,
As the skill Development now is the need of hour, it should be obligatory for an employer to join the hands with the Education Management Organisations , who provide skill in competition to enhance the knowledge for the trainee,
Communication in English should be given more importance to meet with the present challenges. With this Employability problem will also will be solved.
Trainers Association should be formed to interact in the area.
