Following a major senior management restructuring at Bharti Airtel, Srikanth Balachandran has been named the global chief human resources officer (CHRO) of the company. Prior to this, he was global chief financial officer (CFO).
The telecom company informed the BSE about this development late evening on August 4, 2015.Meanwhile, Nilanjan Roy has been appointed as the global chief financial officer, and Rajiv Mathrani was roped in as chief brand officer. The latter will replace Mohit Beotra, who is on his way out to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams.
In March, 2015, Srikanth Karra had called it quits as executive director, HR, Bharti Airtel, South Asia. He had been with the company only for ten months.
Since then, Srikanth Balachandran had been handling the additional responsibility of the HR function as well.
Balachandran, a qualified chartered accountant, joined Bharti Airtel in 2008. Prior to this, he was V-P, Finance at Hindustan Unilever (HUL), where he spent more than 23 years.

After 21 years in HR, he continues to be one of the best leaders I have worked for! I was not surprised in the least when Srikanth was appointed CHRO of Airtel .
