Delhivery, the Indian logistics provider, will create more than 75,000 seasonal jobs across India over the next six weeks. In addition to the 10,000+ employees who will be taken on off-roll at its warehouses, gateways and last-mile delivery centres, the Company will also strengthen its various partner programmes by hiring individual bikers, local retailers, business partners and transporters.

The fully-integrated logistics company is expanding the workforce in the parcel business as well as the express part-truckload business, to be able to cater to the surge in demand expected during the festive season.

Through its last-mile agent (LMA) programme alone, the Company will hire 50,000 last-mile agents. All self-employed individuals, students, retired professionals and other job seekers keen to grab flexible earning opportunities can sign up and offer delivery services in their area. All they require is a two-wheeler, a valid driving license and a smartphone.

Ajith Pai, chief operating officer, Delhivery, said, that in addition to “building delivery capacity, we have expanded our infrastructural footprint by a million sq ft in the first quarter of FY23. Our fully-automated mega gateway at Tauru went live in April this year and is equipped with automated parcel and hub sortation to drive efficiency across both b2c and b2b supply chains”.

Delhivery operates over 90 gateways in India, including 21 automated sortation centres.

It is able to onboard multiple partners at scale without impacting the end customer experience, thanks to its technology stack that provides for multiple apps with an intuitive user interface and in-built training and instructional modules.

The Company expects to roll out a revenue payout of Rs 150 crore across all programmes.

Additionally, Delhivery will strengthen its other ongoing programmes, such as D@S(Drop at Store) and Constellation, to extend its capacity by adding 15000+ last-mile riders. These two programmes allow local retailers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs to provide pick-up and delivery services in their local area. Further, Delhivery will onboard truckers, fleet owners, and brokers through its BP programme (business partners) to expand part-truckload capacity by 50 per cent over the next few weeks.

With its nationwide network covering over 18,400 pin codes, Delhivery offers a full suite of logistics services such as express parcel transportation, PTL freight, TL freight, cross-border, supply chain and technology services.
