Ganesh Chandan joins Suzlon as president & CHRO

Chandan moves in from Avantha ERGO Life Insurance, where he was CHRO and head administration. This will be his second stint with a power company.

Suzlon, the world’s fifth largest wind turbine supplier, has roped in Ganesh Chandan as president & CHRO.

Confirming the development to HRKatha, Chandan says, “Yes, I have joined in from today.” Prior to this, Ganesh was CHRO and head administration, Avantha ERGO Life Insurance.

With an employee strength of around 6,900, Suzlon is a market leader in India with a global footprint across Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa and North and South America. Over the past two decades, Suzlon has built and consolidated its presence in 19 countries, by crossing 14600 MW of wind power installations globally.

After completing his Master’s from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, in 1995, Chandan joined the Titan Industries where he spent around three years.

His next destination was Oracle where he spent more than a decade in various roles. For five years, he headed HR for Oracle Financial Services, based out of New York.

This will be Chandan’s second stint with the power industry. In the past, he has worked as head-HR, at Avantha Power & Infrastructure before moving to the BFSI sector.
