Procter & Gamble India (P&G India), the makers of well-known brands such as Vicks, Ariel, Gillette, and Pampers, has launched an ‘infertility treatment’ policy to support its employees and their partners in achieving inclusive family planning.

Under this policy, P&G India will cover the expenses of infertility treatments like intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilisation (IVF), among others. The policy is designed to support employees of diverse gender identities, sexual orientations, and family structures, consistent with the company’s commitment to fostering an equal and inclusive workplace.

P&G India recognises that infertility treatments can be a stressful experience for individuals and couples, which can have an impact on employees’ well-being. By providing access to infertility treatments, the company hopes to support its employees’ family-planning goals and holistic well-being. The policy covers both in-patient (IPD) and out-patient (OPD) expenses incurred for the infertility treatments by employees and their partners.

P&G India has a history of introducing policies that promote equality, inclusivity, and flexibility for its employees.

P&G India’s ‘Share The Care’ programme offers eight weeks of fully paid parental leave to all new parents, regardless of their status as biological parents, adoptive parents, domestic partners, or parents in same-sex couples.

Additionally, the ‘Lead With Care’ program provides holistic caregiver support for children with disabilities and special needs, including extended annual medical coverage, specialised day-care support, and a 24X7 employee assistance program (EAP). P&G India also extends benefits to partners of LGBTQ+ employees, including medical and workplace benefits.
