The Group released an illuminating video this Father’s Day, highlighting its inclusive policies that encourage equal parenting.

The joys of parenthood are doubled when parents share childcare equally. This not only supports women in the workplace, but also allows fathers the opportunity to care for and enjoy with their children.

Godrej is one of those companies that have always fostered a more inclusive and gender-neutral familial mindset.

Sharing its inclusive policies that encourage equal parenting, the Godrej Group released an illuminating video this #FathersDay. The video showcases fatherhood as an important role, because Dads also need to be acknowledged as equal parents. Fathers, after all, have come a long way from being ‘fathers’ to becoming ‘dads’ #EqualParenting!

The film highlights various enabling policies at Godrej so that employees can have a meaningful career and spend quality time with children at the same time.

Our people policies are designed to foster this inclusive culture. One aspect of this is to enable Godrejites to be more involved, hands-on parents. We offer a range of options to fathers, including paternity and adoption leave; part-time, work-from-home and flexible work options; and facilities, such as a world-class crèche at our headquarters.

Unlike most other companies that offer these benefits to only women employees or working mothers, Godrej has a lot of parenting-friendly policies that support fatherhood as much as motherhood.

From flexible work hours, work-from-home, adoption leave, and a world-class crèche at the workplace, to 10 days of paternity leave in the first six months of the child’s birth, Godrej has designed its paternity policies and benefits module to best support its male employees on both the career and family fronts, and help them balance their lives as equal parents.

Talking about this, Sumit Mitra, group human resources and corporate services, Godrej Industries and Associate Companies says, “We believe that our team members play multi-faceted roles; being a Godrejite is only one of them. We want to encourage them to be their ‘whole selves’ and create an enabling space for them to do so. Our people policies are designed to foster this inclusive culture. One aspect of this is to enable Godrejites to be more involved, hands-on parents. For example, we offer a range of options to fathers, including paternity and adoption leave; part-time, work-from-home and flexible work options; and facilities, such as a world-class crèche at our headquarters.”

Anu Joseph, chief creative officer, Creativeland Asia, the conceptualisers of the video, says, “Its a known fact that men need more than just coaxing to be equal parents. Godrej, with its uniquely empathetic human resources policies, has constantly been at the forefront in encouraging dads at the Company to play an equal role as a parent, and this title film just captures a few Godrej dads playing the role to perfection”.
