Employees of Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM) enthusiastically volunteered to make the environment and society better and more positive during the Tata Steel Volunteering Week.

Staff from the corporate services and other divisions of TSM have planned a whole range of social and environmental activities to celebrate Tata Voluntary Week. The Week highlights how the company can, as a responsible corporate citizen, do its bit for the good of the community and for the sustainability of the environment.

Having started on 26 August, the volunteering activities will continue till 4 September 2023. During this period, TSM employees will be part of a wide range of volunteering activities that will make a positive impact on society and the environment. The Volunteering Week began on the Foundation Day of Tata Steel coinciding with a Monsoon Road Safety Awareness Campaign at Banarpal, Hindol and Dhenkanal. The event was attended by Angul and Dhenkanal District Administration, police, employees of Corporate Services Division of TSM and community members.

Informative leaflets were distributed to drivers and pedestrians as part of the monsoon road safety campaign. A street play was organized across all the locations of the campaign to spread more awareness.

Effort was also made to spread awareness regarding man-animal conflict, especially allowing elephants safe passge.
