For the fifth year in a row, Finland has been named the world’s happiest country and is now offering opportunities for skilled Indians to kickstart or revive their careers in one of the most desirable places to work.
With a focus on maintaining a healthy work-life balance, providing family support, and boasting some of the most environmentally friendly cities and forward-thinking businesses globally, Finland has set an ambitious target of increasing work-based migration by two-fold and study-based migration by three-fold by 2030.
Recent statistics from the Finnish Immigration Services reveal that Finland is already home to over 10,000 Indian residents, with many of them pursuing work and studies in the country.
In the past year alone, the Finnish Immigration Services received more than 7,500 applications for resident permits from Indian nationals.
At an event in India that showcased Finland as the world’s happiest country to reside and work in, Business Finland received interest from over 3000 talented individuals, entrepreneurs, and students looking to relocate to Finland for career opportunities.
“We are happy to welcome talent from India to Finland. Finland offers career opportunities in a myriad of professions like IT, health tech, clean tech, the hydrogen and battery industries, manufacturing, hospitality & tourism, and the health sector,” said Laura Lindeman, senior director, Work in Finland.
Lindeman emphasised the December 2022 agreement signed between Business Finland and the Confederation of Indian Industry for facilitating talent mobility, which was also mentioned during the event.
Furthermore she adds, “We see mutual benefits in building strong cooperation between our countries in talent mobility and wish to offer Indian talents opportunities for professional growth in Finland.”
Finland, with its diverse landscape, provides various career opportunities in globally recognized tech giants like Nokia, Microsoft, Kone, Oura, and IQM Finland.
It serves as an ideal destination for Indian talent seeking to pursue higher education or climb the corporate ladder as a tech entrepreneur with some of the largest technology companies in the world.
