    Paytm will hire 20,000 sales executives

    Paytm signals potential job cuts amid first-ever sales decline

    Paytm is planning to hire sales executives all across India. This decision comes in a bid to fulfil the Company’s mission to educate merchants about the digital tools being offered by the Company, such as digital wallets, so that they become self-competent to leverage these digital tools. These sales executives will be responsible for promoting various products, such as the QR codes, POS machines and Paytm Soundbox. Other products will also be covered by these sales executives like the wallet, UPI, Paytm Postpaid, merchant loans and insurance of offerings.

    The sales executives will be paid a salary of Rs 35,000 and commissions, along with performance bonuses. Recently, the Company has launched a field executive programme at its Noida office, aimed at giving employment to undergraduate students.

    Recently, the Company has planned to go for an IPO worth Rs 16,600 crore and is starting preparations by stepping up the hiring.

    The Company is looking for secondary or senior secondary pass candidates. Undergraduates and graduates will also be welcomed. People can apply for this role through the Paytm app. As per the Company’s requirement, candidates who own a two wheeler and have prior experience in field sales will be given preference. Having an understanding of the geographic nuances of the city and being well versed in the local language will be a plus point.

    The major role of these executives will be to educate the public about all the digital payment functions and products offered by the Company.
