The Global Compliance Lead role is vital in ensuring the business meets its obligations against statutory regulations, business license conditions and compliance with customer contracts.
Given the nature of the Wiley Edge business, our obligations are mostly people/employee related. You will have an extensive background in Human Resources, HR Operations and Payroll. First-hand knowledge of CLRA (Contract Labour [Regulation and Abolition] Act) in India is essential. You will be confident handling data and using various technology systems including HRIS, CRM and MS excel to run reports and interrogate data. You will frequently be managing sensitive and confidential information – understanding and complying with Data Privacy law is essential.
You will be responsible for compiling a comprehensive register of all compliance obligations which shall include key milestone dates, required documentation, internal stakeholder details etc. To support the ongoing requirements, you will maintain a library of documentation which is regularly and systematically updated.
The role has a global remit but has a strong focus on India. The role sits in the Business Operations function but works very closely with internal Wiley Edge teams (Client Service Operations, HR Ops, Engagement, Client Services) and Corporate shared services (HR, Payroll, Legal)
You will be responsible for ensuring Wiley Edge meets all its compliance obligations and successfully passes all customer audits. Core tasks include:
- Proactively monitor compliance with CLRA (Contract Labour [Regulation and Abolition] Act) in India
- own, manage and coordinate all activity relating to customer audits. Audit conditions are unique to each customer but typically relate to CLRA, contract compliance/service provision, conforming with SLA’s, data privacy, business practice.
- Attend in-person audits performed by or customers or their auditors (India only)
- Generate and maintain accurate documentation required for customer audits and business license applications/renewals.
- Identify and escalate non-compliance and/or business risk and own the remediation process.
- Identify new obligations, for example when employee thresholds are breached that bring new locations in scope.
- Coordinate end to end process for CLRA Audits with Wiley Edge customers.
- Build relationships with client stakeholders.
- Track all compliance obligations & maintain accurate record keeping.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert for all HR & Compliance obligations
Qualification And Experience:-
- Bachelor’s degree
- 12+ years of experience working in a senior HR or Compliance role.
- First-hand knowledge of CLRA
- Experience with HRIS and Payroll applications
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills in all applications.
- Excellent written & verbal skills. Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels and with external customers.
- Must be willing to travel within India to attend in-person audits.
- Must be able to work independently and autonomously with strong organizational and negotiation skills
