    Analytics students of IIM Calcutta offered stipend of Rs 1 lakh a month

    Multinational companies are on the lookout for talent equipped with data-driven and business analytics skills. A clear proof of this trend is the handsome stipend offered to analytics students of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, by big global names, such as McKinsey, MasterCard, Amazon, and PwC. There has been a 15 per cent hike in the average stipend offered to the students. The average monthly stipend offered to the students pursuing a postgraduate diploma in business analytics has risen to Rs 1,31,087 with the highest offer being Rs 1,72,000.

    Some of the other companies that participated in the placement drive were DE Shaw & Co.,Master Card, Airtel and Play Games

    Business analytics programmes have been introduced in IIT Kharagpur as well as the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Calcutta. In fact, this year, the business analytics course offered by IIM Calcutta has been ranked 14th worldwide.

    HRKatha had recently carried the news of management graduates from top business schools, including MDI, Gurgaon, the Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS) and IIM, Kozhikode being offered monthly stipends of even over two lakhs for summer internships.

    On an average the stipend for a two-month summer internship increased from has gone up from Rs 2,04,000 to ?Rs 2,08,000 at TISS, Mumbai. However, the same has dipped from Rs 1,71,000 to Rs 1,68,000 for students of IIM, Kozikhode.
