Mindspace Business Parks REIT, owns and develops quality Grade A office portfolios in India, has a ‘Time off for Volunteering’ policy in place, which encourages employees to engage in community service.

The policy enables employees to take six working days off in a financial year as paid time off, to volunteer with an NGO of their choice. The move is aimed to encourage acts of kindness towards those in need.

With this, Mindspace REIT furthers its commitment to building an ecosystem that prioritises on environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance (ESG). Health and safety, sustainable development and mainstreaming of the principles of rightful business conduct continue to be the primary drivers of business ethics and social initiatives.

The entity has partnered with eVidyaloka, a not-for-profit organisation, encouraging employees to invest time in designing education modules and assessment papers, virtually, for children based in rural India. Called ‘The Hope Project, this partnership enables passionate employee volunteers to develop educational content, study material and assessment papers, which will be utilised by teachers to host lectures to students, remotely.

To be part of this project, the volunteers only need a computer, the right intent and time to invest, in enriching the lives of those in need of quality education.

Employees are free to choose any other community service covering education, animal welfare or any other initiative close to their heart.

Mindspace REIT is aware that employees have a lot to offer beyond their workplace, including valuable experience from their corporate trainings, which can positively impact communities.

Being a “socially responsible business” Mindspace REIT, has “developed and executed mindful interventions that are in sync with its vision”.

Post the pandemic and the environment of uncertainty that it has caused, businesses have been realising what a responsible role they need to play. The Hope Project is curated to enable employees to engage in community service conveniently and use the power they have to make a difference in communities that require their help.

Through this collaboration, Mindspace REIT, sponsored by K Raheja Corp group, hopes to “strengthen its position as an entity, committed to creating a measurable and positive social impact”.
