The German IT giant, SAP has made changes in its return-to-office requirements. Earlier, the company wanted its employees to work from office for two days a week. Now, it wants them to work from office for three days a week, starting in January. This mandate will be in effect until the end of April 2024, allowing for a transition period.
The decision is said to be a part of an evolution in the company’s flexible-work policy, aligning with industry best practices.
According to a spokesperson for SAP, employees are expected to work three days a week in the office or on-site with customers or partners, taking into account local labour laws and involving social partners.
Christian Klein, CEO, SAP, emphasised that the company is also refining its performance-management approach across the organisation. The goal is to enhance focus on evaluating and rewarding employees based on individual performance and capabilities. More details on this approach will be communicated through a global email at the beginning of the following week.
