OYO Hotels & Homes has announced several initiatives to ensure the health, wellbeing and work-life balance of its employees, as it gears up to adopt a hybrid work model. Not only is it aiming to help employees upskill and get ready for the changing needs of the hospitality sector, but it has introduced a ‘weekend curfew’ and has also offered its employees a ‘gratitude holiday’ as a surprise.
The ‘gratitude holiday’ on August 17 has been termed ‘OYOpendence Day’ and has been offered as a mark of appreciation and gratitude to the employees for their effort and hard work during these challenging times.
From now on, leaders will ensure that the teams work only during the official working hours and not beyond. The leaders have been told to encourage employees to take time off for themselves and utilise the yearly holidays, even when they are working from home.
Rosters for field positions wherein working on Saturdays is required will ensure that the five-day workweek is strictly adhered to. Unless there is an emergency, total curfew will be followed on weekends, which means zero calls and official work. Review meetings will never be scheduled for a Monday so that the employees do not have to bother preparing for them over the weekend.
As part of the hybrid workplace model, employees in India will continue to enjoy the flexibility of ‘working from anywhere’. They will be free to use OYO’s co-working spaces for meeting whenever needed.
Through a tie-up with Cure.fit, OYO employees will get a 12 month-membership to Cure.fit at a special discount, wherein OYO will bear 50 per cent of the fee. This will give them unlimited access to digital fitness sessions, including dance, yoga, meditation and health & wellness content.
OYO has also taken into account the upskilling needs of its employees. It has launched the Data Science Academy & Young Turks programme offering career growth opportunities
Keeping its commitment to its diversity agenda, OYO also rolled out the OYO Women’s Network, a platform for members to seek or share career advice, build a network with women leaders inside and outside OYO and drive each other’s professional and personal growth.
