Pi Square Technologies — the automotive embedded-software engineering and consulting company with its headquarters in Detroit, US — has launched its global delivery centre (GDC) in Hyderabad.
The facility will cater to global clients and is expected to put together a 1000-strong workforce in the next two years. Initially, it will have about 300 employees working out of this GDC, which will also have an animation studio called ‘Hornbill’.
The GDC will focus data science and analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), VFX, cyber security, animation, CGI, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
The Hyderabad GDC will serve clients across the world, including Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region.
Hornbill Studio will handle pre- and post-production along with animation and VFX, offering end-to-end visual tech solutions to global clients, particularly media companies.
The Government of Telangana has been particularly encouraging and has been trying to introduce policies to allow the animation industry to prosper in the State. Principal Secretary to the Department of IT, E&C, Commerce and Industries Jayesh Ranjan feels that the launch of the studio is a step in the right direction towards making Telangana the “animation capital of the world”.
In October 2022, Pi Square Technologies had inaugurated its India Tech Centre at Bengaluru. The Bengaluru centre is to focus primarily on innovative product development and embedded engineering services, catering to global automotive and OEM companies.
