Prem Singh joins the J.K Group as the group CHRO. He has relocated to New Delhi for this role. Previously, he was the president and global head HR at Wockhardt and was operating from Mumbai.
Friday, 22nd February was his first day at J.K Group and since then he has been very busy attending inductions for a smooth onboarding experience. HRKatha spoke to him briefly this morning, “I am here in Delhi, I am very excited to start this role. It is a bigger company with more opportunities, there are close to thirty thousand employees in the group,” says Singh.
Singh was the president and global HR head at Wockhardt before this. While Singh has worked in the pharma industry for a decade, in his career spanning 20 years, he has worked in other industries as well. He is an alumnus of the coveted IIT- Delhi, where he did his master’s in management.
J.K Group is multinational group head-quartered in India with a heritage of more than 125 years. The Group has multi-business, multi-product and multi-location operations, with its foot prints in various countries across the globe.
“There are nine different companies within the group with a turnover of 3-4 billion,” says an elated Singh.
Varun Upadhyaya, who was earlier working as an independent consultant, has taken his place in Wockhardt as VP and head-HR. Prem played a key role in facilitating Upadhyaya’s movement.
