    NHRD names K Ramkumar as national president

    K Ramkumar is an executive director on the Board of ICICI Bank, and president of the ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth.

    K Ramkumar has taken over as the national president of the National HRD Network (NHRDN), the national apex body of HR professionals.

    He succeeds Rajeev Dubey, group president – HR & corporate services & CEO, after market and member of the group executive board, Mahindra & Mahindra.

    Ramkumar says, “It is an immense responsibility and I eagerly await the journey ahead. I look forward to engaging with all the members of NHRDN regularly. Together, I hope to bring about positive changes in HR practices in the country.”

    Ramkumar has been on the board of ICICI Bank since 2009. Currently, he is executive director, ICICI Bank and president, ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth.

    At ICICI Bank, Ramkumar conceived and nurtured the Institute for Finance, Banking & Insurance and the ICICI Manipal Academy for Banking & Insurance. He nurtured the partnership initiatives with SEBI —National Institute for Securities Management, and with NIIT —the NIIT University.

    He also led the CSR project of ICICI Foundation on skilling youth and promoting livelihood.

    In the past, he has worked in the HRM (Human Resources Management) and manufacturing verticals with companies such as Hindustan Aeronautics, Brooke Bond Lipton India (now Hindustan Unilever) and ICI India.

    He holds a PG diploma in personnel management from the Madras School of Social Work.

    An avid writer and blogger (www.theotherview.in) Ramkumar is passionate about leadership development, succession management, building a supply chain for the bank’s human resources requirements, leveraging technology to innovate and driving operational excellence to achieve world class service quality.
