    Rajendra Mehta is new CHRO, Welspun India

    Welspun India has announced the appointment of Rajendra Mehta as its new president and CHRO. In his new role, Mehta will be leading the HR function of the Company, as well as its subsidiaries, which includes, Welspun Advanced Textiles, Welspun Retails, Welspun Floorings and Welspun Global Brands.

    Lats month, the company’s group CHRO Rajesh Padmanabhan, had quit the company and HRKatha was first to report it. Padmanabhan was the CHRO for the entire Welspun Group, which also included the line pipes, infrastructure & energy and the steel business.

    Prior to joining Welspun, Mehta was working as the executive director and chief people officer at Synergy Capital for a short span of seven months. At Synergy, his role required him to work with investee companies to build their people practice frameworks, to speed up opportunity of transformation. Before joining Synergy, Mehta was the chief people officer at Dewan Housing Finance (DHFL).

    Mehta holds a master’s degree in personnel management which he pursued from JDC Bytco Institute of Management Studies and Research, Nashik. With total experience of almost 25 years in the HR domain, Mehta possesses expertise in developing and executing the strategic HR agenda of organisations. He is known for the successful implementation of world-class practices that have transformed businesses into high-performing and profitable estabilshments.

    Mehta began his career with KEC International, where he was assistant manager-HR and since then there has been no looking back for him. He has worked with big names, including Larsen & Toubro, The Times of India Group, VNL, and Zee Entertainment.

    Mehta is a licensed practitioner of the Thomas Profiling System and an expert in implementing Gallup, Leadership Circle and GPTW frameworks. His areas of interest include identifying and hiring leadership talent across generic and niche skills, ensuring sustained development of employees to build organisational capabilities, as well as retaining and promoting talent.
