Sanmitra Trivedi, who was the senior VP and head-HR, petroleum refining & marketing at Reliance Industries, has just joined Finolex Industries as the president and CHRO. With over three decades of experience across industries, Trivedi is a senior HR leader who has also served on the committees of NASSCOM, CII and Petrofed.
Trivedi will now be based out of Pune, operating from the PVC manufacturer’s headquarters. He joins Finolex Industries after having spent five years at Reliance Industries. Prior to that, he has also worked with Larsen & Toubro, Verizon Data Services, NCR Corporation, Halliburton and Atos Origin.
An engineering graduate, Trivedi began his professional journey in 1988, as a trainee at Mukand, where he worked for nine years and moved up the ranks to become assistant manager within seven and a half years. He was also acknowledged by the chairman and MD of the company for his extraordinary performance and growth.
He joined Halliburton in 1997 and led HR for all legal entities of Halliburton Company in India and Bangladesh. He also implemented the global merger of two companies —Halliburton and Dresser Industries in India.
Trivedi joined Verizon Data as the head-HR in 2004 and was managing the HR function for all Verizon entities in India, with close to 6000 employees working in the captive offshore IT development centre, global helpdesk operations & sales. In 2008, he was elevated as a full time director/member of the board.
A graduate in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, Trivedi is also a PG diploma holder in personnel management and industrial relations from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai. In addition, he is an LL.B. graduate from the University of Mumbai.
