“I am honored and humbled to have been appointed to join the executive board of SAP as the chief people officer and labour director, effective 1 Februrary, 2024,” posts Gina Vargiu-Breuer on social media.
Vargiu-Breuer has worked with Siemens for over 17 years before joining Siemens Energy, where she spent the last four years.
A master’s degree holder in economic psychology from Catholic University of Eichstatt-Ingolstadt, Vargiu-Breuer joined Siemens in 2022, as learning and development manager, local HR business partner. She helped set up and design a complete personnel development landscape from scratch for Siemens Thailand, which had a 1500-strong workforce. Two years into this role, she was elevated to the position of subject matter expert, personnel development, based out of Manila, Philippines. In 2006, she moved to Germany, after being promoted to global HR business partner, healthcare. Three years later, she became senior subject matter expert, international personnel development. From 2012 to 2013 she was in Dubai as regional leader of Centre of Competence, Africa and Middle East.
Her next promotion saw her back in Germany, as global HR business partner, large gas turbines and generators, power and gas. Three years later in 2016, she became senior VP, global HR, power generation services. By 2019, she was senior VP – global HR, gas and power, service and digital, based out of Orlando, Florida.
Since October 2019, she has been essaying the role of senior VP – global HR, Siemens Energy, based out of Germany.
In her new assignment at SAP, the business software solutions provider, Vargiu-Breuer will help transform SAP’s HR strategy.
