Wipro has roped in Vikrant Gupta to take on the role of CHRO at the information technology (IT) consulting firm. In this assignment, Gupta will lead the company’s global human resources strategy and operations and talent management, including recruitment and leadership development.
Gupta is backed by over two decades of experience with expertise in various facets of human resources, including HR business partner roles, recruiting, talent management, leadership development, change management, financial auditing as well as mergers and acquisitions.
He has also worked across diverse industries, including services, manufacturing, retail and technology.
Prior to joining Wipro, he was with Apna as its human resource (HR). In his long and successful career, Gupta has also served with many other organisations such as HARMAN International, HCL, Accenture, Nike, GE, and L&T.
His longest stint of over eight years was with Accenture. He joined the company in the year 2006 as its VP-HR and held the role for close to four years.
In the initial years of his career journey, Gupta worked with Larsen and Toubro as HR for two years before moving to GE Healthcare in the year 2000, as HR manager.
Gupta holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Calcutta and a master’s degree in human resources from Symbiosis International University.
