    Students of IIM Calcutta offered average salary of Rs 25.36 lakh

    As many as 123 companies participated at the IIM Calcutta placement process, where over 500 offers were made and all the 441 students of the Institute’s postgraduate programme bagged jobs on the first day itself. The average salary offered to the students was Rs 25.36 lakhs per year.

    The maximum recruitments were made by Accenture whose offers were accepted by 24 students.

    Almost 29 per cent of the participating students accepted offers in the consulting domain, while 21 per cent accepted jobs in the finance sector. Sales and marketing positions were accepted by 12 per cent students, while eight per cent went home with offers in IT-analytics. Companies, such as Uber, Amazon, Flipkart and other new e-commerce firms also contributed to 16 per cent of the hires.

    Among the participant companies were Citibank, Deutsche Bank, PwC, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America Merril Lynch, JP Morgan Chae, AT Kearney, The Boston Consulting Group, Alvarez & Marsal, and Bain & Co.
