Bank of Baroda has announced a recruitment drive for 2,482 local bank officers in Junior Management Grade/Scale-I (JMG/S-I) across 20 states and Union Territories.
The recruitment is aimed at strengthening the bank’s local workforce while creating career opportunities for banking professionals. The initiative will also support the bank’s efforts to deepen its presence in regional markets and improve customer engagement.
A key feature of the recruitment is the location-based deployment of selected officers. Candidates will be posted in the state for which they apply for the first 12 years of their service, or until they are promoted to SMGS-IV, whichever comes earlier.
The bank said the approach will help build a workforce with knowledge of local markets and familiarity with regional languages and cultures. This is expected to help officers understand customer needs better and support banking services at the grassroots level.
The recruitment covers states including Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Odisha, among others. The bank said the initiative will also help local talent build longer-term careers while continuing to serve their respective regions.
Speaking on the recruitment, Shri Lal Singh, executive director, Bank of Baroda, said, “This recruitment drive represents an investment not only in our workforce, but also in the communities and economies we serve. By bringing in young banking professionals with strong local understanding and language capabilities, we are strengthening our ability to respond to the evolving needs of customers in different markets. At the same time, the initiative creates opportunities for local talent to build rewarding careers while contributing to the economic development of their respective states. This is aligned with our broader role as a public-sector bank in advancing inclusive growth and creating sustainable employment opportunities.”
Candidates applying for the positions must be between 21 and 30 years of age as on 1 August, 2026, subject to applicable age relaxations. Applicants must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university.
The bank has also specified a minimum of one year of post-qualification experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.
Applicants must be proficient in the local language of the state they are applying for, including the ability to read, write, speak and understand it.
Applications for the positions will remain open until 7 September, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply online through Bank of Baroda’s website.
