By launching the Airport Stars Day, Akasa has become probably the first Indian airline to institutionalise an annual day dedicated to airport teams. The Day is meant to recognise and celebrate the remarkable contribution of its ground services teams, including airport operations, security, cabin appearance and cargo. This annual initiative is dedicated to recognising and celebrating the contribution of airport services teams across the country, underscoring Akasa’s commitment to employee centricity and a people-first culture.

Airport Stars Day is aimed at recognising airport teams that form the backbone of aviation, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure smooth and seamless journeys for millions of passengers every year. Airport teams ensure that everything moves forward with precision, care and passion, starting with reassuring travellers to keeping operations running safely and efficiently from the ramp to the runway.

They are probably the most invisible force powering each successful flight. Why? It is because their day begins way before the first flight takes off and continues until the last one concludes.

Airport teams quietly work behind the scenes performing innumerable tasks carefully and precisely, coordinating ground operations, handling baggage, performing safety checks, and also assisting passengers to ensure smooth turnarounds just so that flights keep running on time. Akasa acknowledges that these efforts are central to the Akasa Experience, of safe, efficient and pleasant journeys.

This initiative is Akasa’s way of building its own tradition of honouring the people who make air travel possible, acknowledging their operational excellence and their passion, empathy, and service excellence mindset. This is in line with Akasa Air’s belief that operational excellence directly translates into service excellence.

Airport Stars Day is not only a tribute to the past and present contributions of airport staff, but also a commitment to nurturing a culture of appreciation for the future.
