A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Coal India (CIL) and the Xavier School of Management (XLRI), Jamshedpur, under which XLRI will be providing a customised training programme to CIL officers to hone their leadership and management skills in the HR domain.
As per the announcement, about 500 HR personnel of CIL will be part of this leadership-development programme which will be held at the XLRI Jamshedpur campus, in phases. The first batch of this corporate training programme will begin from April.
The MoU was signed between Fr Paul Fernandes, director, XLRI and Vinay Ranjan, director (P&IR) Coal India.
Among others who attended the event were M Srimannarayana, associate dean – corporate and virtual interactive learning (VIL) programme; Anita Sarkar, director of the programme; S. K Tiwary, head corporate programme and R K Dash, head of the HR department, CIL.
This MoU will strengthen the industry-academia relationship between XLRI Jamshedpur and Coal India. The Institute keeps offering such customised training for executives, which further helps organisations to increase performance and skill enhancement.
One of the oldest business schools in India, XLRI started its first campus at the steel city of India, Jamshedpur. Presently, it also has a campus in Delhi-NCR, at Jhajjar.
