Dabur released a video to honour its women employees on the occasion of Women’s Day. In the video, women are seen walking in long confident strides towards equality, going over their regular day’s work with poised dedication and focus.

The video aims to free women from the clutches of stereotyping and labelling. They are seen performing a plethora of tasks from technology to research with or without lip gloss!

The background track is very catchy and reiterates that women are ready for all jobs and the only option they are open to is ‘winning’.

The film, #WomenCan, is an effort to change the mindset of the society. The ‘seed of change’ has been sown. The ground may be rocky but it is certainly getting the right conditions for growth.

    V Krishnan

“The video highlights the various strengths of contemporary women, which at Dabur, ranges from intensive contributions in the field of marketing, sales, finance, information technology and innovation. It also showcases the unshakable intent of a woman when she chooses to do what #WomenCan”

Unfolding the message of the film, V Krishnan, executive director-HR, Dabur says, “The film celebrates various women successfully undertaking multi-faceted roles at Dabur, in functions which were previously dominated by men.”

“The video highlights the various strengths of contemporary women, which at Dabur, ranges from intensive contributions in the field of marketing, sales, finance, information technology and innovation. It also showcases the unshakable intent of a woman when she chooses to do what #WomenCan,” Krishnan continues.

Through this video, Dabur tries to break one of the worst prejudices against working women. They are stereotyped as having lower dedication to work because of their family responsibilities, in comparison to their male counterparts.

“The intent of the film is to showcase our women employees and the fact that they have successfully broken the paradigms and beliefs that have long dominated our society’s collective mindsets.”

Dabur feels strongly about this cause because it complements the company’s motto of being ‘Dedicated to the Health & Well-Being of every Household’; and no household is complete without the woman of the house.

“Today, women’s participation is imperative to any company’s growth— as employees, consumers and stakeholders. At Dabur, we see our women employees as our pillars of strength,” says Krishnan.

The equal-opportunity work environment that Dabur promises to its women comes across very clearly in the video. Be it a science laboratory, a conference room or an auditorium, the women of the workforce look happy, confident and focussed.

Dabur can be given the credit for initiating practices that have helped establish an inclusive workplace. Not only is the potential of their women employees leveraged to the fullest, but every woman is made to feel valued, heard and fully involved with the Company.

The organisation has also put in place several policies to encourage women and enhance workforce diversity. Dabur was amongst the first companies to offer paternity leave for its male employees.

“Besides, on a case-to-case basis, we have started permitting employees, who enter into a marital relationship at the workplace, to continue working in the organisation even after marriage, as long as there is no conflict of interest,” says Krishnan.

The video celebrates International Women’s Day with a clear and strong message to its women employees — that they are strategic to the growth and development of the Dabur brand!
