The power backup company is offering part-time jobs to women on a career break.

Gender diversity in engergy companies is still skewed towards men. Many energy companies with a vision to diversify their workforce are doing their best to attract women employees.

Su-Kam, a power backup and solar solutions provider, has come up with a policy to offer part-time flexible work hours to women across India. The sole aim of this policy is to provide an opportunity to women in the midst of a career break, to earn extra during their free time, to augment their income.

These women will be involved in coordinating and communicating with the product distributors and the in-house team of Su-Kam for booking orders, billing, timely supply and service, complaint resolution and product training.

Before these women go out for the actual fieldwork, the Company will provide product training, orientation and induction in time slots as felt appropriate by these women.  They are, however, required to have Internet connectivity, knowledge of MS-Office, proficiency in the regional language and free time of two to three hours daily for the work.

Kunwer Sachdev, managing director, Su-Kam,  says, “We, at Su-Kam have always endeavoured to take into consideration women’s concerns. This policy is a step ahead in ensuring the welfare of women at the workplace. Being aware of the fact that women have a special responsibility towards family, this policy will go a long way in empowering those who are in the midst of a career break due to family or other issues.”

The Company will be offering these women competitive remunerations and uncapped incentives.

One of the women registered under this policy says, “I appreciate this noble initiative by Su-Kam. It is women-friendly and takes into consideration the concerns of women, who are on a career break. Further, the training provided by Su-Kam is very useful not only for this job but for our career ahead.”
