Hewlett Packard Enterprise to cut 5000 jobs, globally

The objective is to focus on efficiency by embracing a simple business model.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is about to cut around 5000 jobs— 10 per cent of its global workforce. The lay-off process will start by the end of this year.

Increasingly, there has been a number of job cuts in several companies due to automation, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, tightening foreign market, cost-cutting, and so on. Some companies reduced their workforce due to poor performance, while others did so due to merger of their businesses.

The exercise is aimed at making the organisation less complex and more efficient.  It has plans to simplify its business model in the coming days.

This decision is going to affect employees at the management level, in not just the US but elsewhere as well.

As per Meg Whitman, the CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), the company is focussed on cutting layers in the organisation to become more well organised and effectual. The reduction in workforce will make the company simpler, nimbler and a faster operating model.
