SBS India has appointed Koninika Mitra as head of human resources. She joins the organisation after more than six years at Amazon, where she served as HR vertical Leader.
At SBS India, Mitra will lead the organisation’s HR function as it focuses on its people and workforce priorities. Her appointment marks the latest step in a career that has included HR leadership roles across technology, industrial, media and financial services organisations.
Mitra brings more than 20 years of experience across human resources, spanning HR business partnering, talent management, career development, performance management, compensation, HR analytics and organisational development.
Mitra spent six years and two months at Amazon, from July 2020 to August 2026, as HR vertical leader. During her tenure, she held responsibility for HR across multiple business areas, with her profile highlighting expertise in team leadership and leadership development.
Before Amazon, Mitra was corporate HR leader at Honeywell from July 2017 to June 2020, where she worked across HR leadership and organisational priorities.
She previously served as head of human resources at Max Skill First from September 2015 to June 2017. Before that, she spent more than five years at Times Internet, serving as general manager HR from March 2010 to August 2015.
Earlier, Mitra was AVP, talent management at HSBC from March 2008 to January 2010, where she worked on talent management initiatives. She began her listed corporate HR career with Lehman Brothers, serving as HR Generalist from June 2006 to February 2008.
Her experience across these organisations has included HR consulting, talent management, career development, performance management, compensation and organisational development.
