Abacus.AI is all set to establish its research and development (R&D) centre in Mumbai, at a cost of $50 million. While it will hire about 20 engineers and scientists at first, by 2024, it aims to have at least a 200-strong team in place.

The Centre will help small and large firms to embrace artificial intelligence (AI) through its cloud AI platform equipped to take care of all facets of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) at scale. It also offers end-to-end autonomous AI services that can be customised.

Given that India is home to talented software engineers as well as AI enthusiasts and experts, the Company is confident of being able to expand and fulfil its talent needs here. Its AI platform will offer customers and organisations the flexibility and opportunity to expand their AI infrastructure.

Founded in 2019, by Bindu Reddy, Siddartha Naidu and Arvind Sundararajan, the San Francisco-based company managed to obtain funds to the tune of $90 million via four rounds. It will continue its attempts to raise more funds to be able to expand globally.

Abacus.AI has set up shop in India at a time when organisations across the world are adopting AI,ML, deep learning and cloud computing in a bid to economise operations and improve efficiency. Abacus.AI’s platform allows data science teams the flexibility to plug and play their own models.
