    Placement news: Big names participate in placement drives across Indian campuses

    Students of the IFMR Graduate School of Business (IFMR GSB) at Krea University have managed to bag attractive offers during the placement drive. The highest salary offered was Rs 18 lakh per annum. Out of the 175 students who participated, about 165 received job offers in the finance, technology and consulting space, while the rest bagged jobs in operations, marketing and strategy.

    The drive saw 78 recruiters participating, including 34 new. Among the known names that made offers were Wipro, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Philips, Oracle, Wells Fargo, KPMG, EY, Deloitte, PwC, JP Morgan, Accenture, Cognizant, CRISIL and Tata International.

    The average salaries offered this year increased over 10 per cent across the top 25 per cent, 50 per cent and overall.

    Many students bagged emerging roles in risk, valuation and digital consulting, risk and financial advisory, financial planning and analysis, risk modelling, business analysis and management consulting.

    Recently, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Lucknow, recorded 100 per cent placement for its BTech programme, with the highest package of Rs 45 lakh per annum being offered to three students, by Amazon. The average package offered was Rs 25.86 lakh per annum.

    Tekion Corp., an American unicorn startup, offered a package of Rs 43 lakh per annum to six students, while three students received an offer of Rs 32.57 lakh from Flipkart.

    Clearly, there has been a significant jump in the packages, given that the highest package was Rs 43 lakh per annum in the previous session.

    The placement drive saw big names such as Acko, Intel, Accenture, Amazon, Nvidia, Flipkart, Walmart Global Tech, Mindtickle, AMD, Tekion Corp, Zeta, and Nvidia among others.

    Internship offers were also made by Goldman Sachs, Amazon, LinkedIn, Google India, Morgan Stanley, and other multinationals.

    Meanwhile, at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, 49 per cent of the total 631 offers made were in the consulting space. There, the average salary offered reached an all-time high, with a 17 per cent increase, at Rs 34 lakh per annum.
