An alumna of the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad, from where she did a PGDBM in HR, Mahendru began her corporate journey with Tata Press, in 1993. She worked there as a management HR trainee for a year, before moving to LNJ Bhilwara Group in 1994, as senior executive – human resources.

In 1995, she joined Star TV Network as senior manager – HR for a fairly long stint of over five years.

Her next stop was Barista Coffee Company, where she served as VP – HR for three and a half years. The year 2004 witnessed her playing vice president – HR at Modicare (KK Modi Group). This stint lasted just over two years.

The next eight months were spent as an HR consultant with Belden Inc.

Bharti Wal-mart appointed her vice president – HR in 2007. Less than two years later, she found herself busy offering HR consultancy to startups and SMEs as a management consultant.

By 2017, she was back into the corporate world after a sabbatical, as practice director – HR solutions, at KNAV International. However, this tenure was very short and hardly lasted seventh months, before she was appointed executive VP – HR at McCann.

An economics graduate from Hansraj College, Delhi University, Mahendru is known for her unconventional leadership style with focus on business results and people.

The dedication and positive approach of this seasoned HR professional will stand her in good stead in her new assignment at Wunderman Thompson South Asia.
